About Alex Stone

Alex Stone studied English at Harvard University and later earned a master's degree in physics from Columbia University. He spent his childhood in Wisconsin, Texas and Spain, and he lives in New York City. In Fooling Houdini, Stone describes how a magic kit from his father at age five started a lifelong interest. In New York City he was drawn into an underground magic scene and went on to compete at the Magic Olympics. Along the way he explores what psychology, neuroscience and physics say about how the mind perceives the world.
