About Alexandra Watkins

Alexandra Watkins founded Eat My Words, a firm that creates names for brands. Her clients have included makers of snacks, software, sunscreen, sportswear and shoes. She has been quoted in the press and featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Inc. and Entrepreneur. Her start in naming came when Gap hired her to write playful names for its first body care line. She later got into the branding firm Landor, which sent her enough work to open her own company. Earlier in her career she was an advertising copywriter at agencies on the West Coast, and her time at Ogilvy and Mather lasted five years and included work on the Microsoft Windows launch. Watkins also speaks at business schools, and she has presented several times at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Her book in our catalog is Hello, My Name is Awesome.
