About Anne Frank
Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt, Germany, on 12 June 1929. Her family moved to Amsterdam in the early 1930s after the Nazis gained power in Germany. In July 1942 the family hid in concealed rooms behind a bookcase at her father Otto Frank's workplace. Anne kept a diary there until the family was arrested in August 1944. Anne died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in early 1945. Otto, the only survivor of the family, published her diary in 1947. The Diary of a Young Girl first appeared in English in 1952 and has been translated into more than 70 languages.
