Bill Gates Sr. (William Henry Gates II) lived from 1925 to 2020. He founded the law firm Shidler McBroom & Gates, which is a predecessor of K&L Gates. He led both the Seattle King County Bar Association and the Washington State Bar Association as president. His son is Bill Gates, who co-founded Microsoft.
