About Dean Burnett

Dean Burnett studied neuroscience at Cardiff University, earning a BSc and later a PhD on the role of the hippocampus in configural learning. He has also worked there as a tutor and lecturer. He tried stand-up comedy for the first time in 2004 and later joined that interest to his science background by writing funny takes on topical science stories. This led to a regular blog for The Guardian from 2012. His debut book, The Idiot Brain, was an international bestseller, and The Happy Brain followed it. Emotional Ignorance is also among his books.
