About Henry M. Robert III

Henry M. Robert III was the grandson of the man who first wrote Robert's Rules of Order. He served as a trustee of the Robert's Rules Association. Around 1960, he joined his mother, Sarah Corbin Robert, and the Baltimore lawyer William J. Evans in a complete revision of the book. The result was Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised, published on 19 February 1970. He acknowledged that parliamentarians had debated how long and complex the rules had become, and a supplemental book was developed in response. A later edition of the book was dedicated to his memory, along with his mother and Evans.
