About Jeff Sutherland
Jeff Sutherland is one of the creators of Scrum. He developed the framework in 1993 and, with Ken Schwaber, formalized it in 1995, presenting it at the OOPSLA conference that year. He also contributed to the Agile Manifesto in 2001 and helped write The Scrum Guide, the official definition of the framework. Scrum began in software development, but Sutherland has adapted it for other fields, including finance, healthcare, higher education, energy and non-profits. He has held leadership roles at Scrum Inc. and writes widely about using Scrum to speed up product development. In our catalog, his book is Scrum. He trained at the United States Military Academy at West Point and was a fighter pilot.
