About Katharine Graham
Katharine Graham was born in 1917 and died in 2001. She began leading The Washington Post, her family's newspaper, in 1963. Under her, the paper covered the Watergate scandal, which ended with Richard Nixon resigning as president. She was among the early women to hold a publisher's post at a large US daily in the 20th century, and the Associated Press board was the first to vote a woman onto its ranks when it chose her.
