Matthew Barzun is an American businessman, diplomat and political fundraiser. He began his career as an executive at CNET Networks, a media company. He raised funds for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, and Obama later picked him as national finance chair of the 2012 re-election effort. Barzun served as US Ambassador to Sweden from 2009 to 2011 and as US Ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2013 to 2017. He is the author of The Power of Giving Away Power, published by Optimism Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
