About Rachel Abrams

Rachel Abrams is originally from Los Angeles and graduated from New York University in 2009, where she majored in history. She reported on the film industry for Variety before joining The New York Times in 2013. At the Times she was a media reporter on the business desk, and she later became a senior producer and reporter for the documentary series The New York Times Presents. She was on the reporting team that received the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for public service, for uncovering harassment and misconduct by Harvey Weinstein and other powerful figures. In 2022 she was on the team behind Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson, which won an Emmy. In 2019 she shared a Loeb Award with colleagues James B. Stewart and Ellen Gabler for an article about how Les Moonves tried to silence an accuser. That article formed the basis for Unscripted, her book about the fight over the Redstone family's media empire.
