About Wim Hof

Wim Hof was born on 20 April 1959 in Sittard, in the Netherlands. He is nicknamed The Iceman for his cold-exposure feats. These include swimming 66 meters under ice and running a half marathon barefoot above the Arctic Circle. He has also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in shorts. Hof developed the Wim Hof Method, which combines breathing exercises, cold exposure, meditation and commitment. He believes anyone can learn to do what his body does, and The Wim Hof Method sets out his approach. He has worked with scientists to test it, and studies of the method so far have shown mixed results.
