About Alejandro Junger
Alejandro Junger was born in Uruguay and graduated from medical school there in 1990. He then moved to New York City, where he trained in internal medicine at NYU Downtown Hospital and completed a fellowship in cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital. Afterwards he studied eastern medicine in India. After moving to New York, he developed irritable bowel syndrome and depression. Becoming a patient in the system where he worked led him to look for other ways to address his health. Clean grew out of that search, and it is described as a manual on supporting the body's detoxification systems. He has written Clean, Clean Gut and Clean Eats, and is described as a New York Times bestselling author. He lives in Los Angeles with his three children.
