About Alvin Toffler

Alvin Toffler (1928 to 2016) was born in New York City and worked as an associate editor of Fortune magazine. His early writing looked at technology and its effects, which he called "information overload". Future Shock appeared in 1970 as his first major book on the future, and it has sold more than 6 million copies. With his wife Heidi Toffler, who worked with him on most of his writing, he later wrote The Third Wave (1980) and Powershift (1990). He also founded the management consulting company Toffler Associates and served as a visiting professor at Cornell University.
