Anthony Brandt is an American composer, academic and writer. He teaches composition and theory at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, and he co-founded Musiqa, where he is artistic director. His compositions span orchestral, chamber, vocal, theater and dance music, and include chamber operas. With neuroscientist David Eagleman, he wrote The Runaway Species, a book about human creativity. It was chosen for a 2018 common reading program at Texas State University.
