About B. H. Liddell Hart
Sir Basil Henry Liddell Hart (1895 to 1970) was a British soldier, military historian and military theorist. He was usually known as Captain B. H. Liddell Hart. Looking at the lessons of the First World War, he held that attacking head-on would fail and cost many lives. He recommended the "indirect approach" and fast-moving armoured formations instead. He also advocated tank and air warfare early on. Among his other works are Scipio Africanus: Greater Than Napoleon and The Revolution in Warfare, as well as The Other Side of the Hill. Our catalog includes Why Don't We Learn from History?
