About Byron Katie
Byron Katie lived through years of severe depression before a realization in 1986 changed how she saw her own thoughts. She came to see that she suffered when she believed them and did not suffer when she questioned them. She went on to found The Work, and she has shared it with people at public events, in prisons, hospitals, schools and businesses. Byron Katie International, the organization she founded, takes in both the School for the Work and Turnaround House, based in Ojai, California. Loving What Is, a bestselling book, was co-written with her husband, the writer and translator Stephen Mitchell.
