About Carol Dweck
Carol Susan Dweck was born in 1946 and is a professor of psychology at Stanford University, where she holds the Lewis and Virginia Eaton Professorship. She joined Stanford in 2004, after teaching at the University of Illinois, Harvard and Columbia. Her research has centered on the reasons people succeed and on ways to encourage success. She wrote Mindset, and her scholarly work includes Self-Theories: Their Role in Motivation, Personality, and Development. Her honors include election to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and to the National Academy of Sciences. In 2013 she was named an Association for Psychological Science (APS) James McKeen Cattell Fellow.
