About Christopher Ryan
Christopher Ryan and Cacilda Jethá wrote Sex at Dawn together, and it became a New York Times best-seller. He graduated in 1984 with a degree in English and American literature, then spent decades traveling and doing odd jobs, from gutting salmon in Alaska to teaching English in Bangkok. In his mid-30s he began doctoral studies in psychology. His research first looked at shamanism and ethnobotany, then at how different cultures view sexuality. Stanley Krippner supervised his dissertation on the prehistoric roots of human sexuality at Saybrook Graduate School in San Francisco. He has also spoken at events including TED in Long Beach and the Festival of Dangerous Ideas at the Sydney Opera House.
