About Daniel M. Wegner

Daniel Merton Wegner (1948 to 2013) was a social psychologist who taught psychology at Harvard University and Trinity University. He was a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He applied experimental psychology to mental control, including ironic process theory, and to conscious will. He also originated the study of transactive memory and action identification. He argued in The Illusion of Conscious Will, among other works, that the feeling of free will is an illusion. The Mind Club is among his books in the BookBits catalog.
