About Danny Penman

Dr Danny Penman is a meditation teacher and author. He is also a journalist who has written for the Guardian, the Independent and the Daily Mail, and the BBC and Channel 4 News have broadcast his investigative reporting. He came to mindfulness meditation after a serious paragliding accident left him temporarily disabled and in chronic pain. The meditations relieved his pain and stress so well that he approached Professor Mark Williams of Oxford University, a co-developer of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Together they wrote Mindfulness, which has sold two million copies and been translated into more than 35 languages. Penman also won the British Medical Association's Best Book Award for Mindfulness for Health, published in the US as You Are Not Your Pain. He lives in Bristol, UK.
