About Elinor Cleghorn

Cleghorn is a feminist cultural historian and author from Britain. She earned her doctorate in humanities and cultural studies from the London Consortium (Birkbeck), then shifted her focus to medical history and gender studies. Her own struggle to get a lupus diagnosis led her to study the history of women's treatment in medicine. That research went on to become her debut book, Unwell Women, an international bestseller.
