About Graham Hancock

Born in Edinburgh in 1950, Hancock studied sociology at Durham University and worked as a journalist, including as East Africa correspondent of The Economist. His early books dealt with international development, including Lords of Poverty (1989), a critique of the aid system. From The Sign and the Seal (1992) onward, he turned to the mysteries of prehistory, and Fingerprints of the Gods (1995) and Magicians of the Gods (2015) followed. Hancock argues that an advanced society flourished in the last Ice Age and was destroyed by a global cataclysm almost 13,000 years ago. Many archaeologists and scholars dispute his claims. He has also written novels, beginning with Entangled in 2010, and presented the Netflix series Ancient Apocalypse (2022). Our catalog includes his book America Before.
