About Henry Shukman
Henry Shukman was born in 1962 in Oxford. He holds Zen master authorisation from the Sanbo Zen lineage and is spiritual director emeritus of Mountain Cloud Zen Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He co-founded The Way, a meditation app, and is its lead meditation teacher. He also leads meditation courses and retreats, and has taught meditation at Google and Harvard Business School. He earlier built a career as an author and poet, and his memoir One Blade of Grass tells of his own path through meditation practice. Difficult experiences in his youth, a spontaneous awakening at 19 and years of training with several teachers shaped his approach. Original Love is his guide to four key zones of meditation practice. It shares its name with a program he developed in 2021, which rests on love for self and the world.
