Hermawan Kartajaya is a marketing writer and speaker from Indonesia. He was born in Surabaya, Indonesia, on 18 November 1947. He founded MCorp (MarkPlus) in 1990 and has served as its chair. He has worked with Philip Kotler on a number of books. Their 2000 book Repositioning Asia examined why the 1997 Asian crisis happened and what governments and companies could do to build more sustainable economies. They followed it in 2002 with Rethinking Marketing. Marketing 3.0 and Marketing 5.0 are his titles in our catalog. In 2003 the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK named him one of 50 gurus who have shaped the future of marketing. In November 2025 the same institute made him an Honorary Fellow.
