About Jamie Bartlett

Jamie Bartlett is a British author and journalist. He has written for The Spectator and The Daily Telegraph, and he now writes a newsletter called How to Survive the Internet. He was a senior fellow at Demos and directed its Centre for the Analysis of Social Media until 2017. His main interest is how technology, politics and society affect one another, and he aims to make writing on tech accessible to general readers. He likes to look at fringe subcultures, which he sees as useful guides to the future. That approach shaped his first book, The Dark Net, published in 2014. He spent months immersed in hidden internet communities to write it. His books in our catalog are The Dark Net and The People Vs Tech. He has also done some television work, including the two-part BBC 2 series The Secrets of Silicon Valley.
