About John M. Hull
John Martin Hull (1935-2015) taught religious education at the University of Birmingham, where he held an emeritus professorship. He wrote several books and many articles covering religious education, practical theology and disability. His interest in disability came from losing his sight in mid-career and from his reflections on it, both personal and theological. His book in our catalog is Touching the Rock. In 2012 the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the literature of blindness. For 25 years Hull was the editor of the British Journal of Religious Education. He was also a co-founder of the International Seminar on Religious Education and Values, and served as its general secretary for 32 years. In retirement he took up an honorary professorship in practical theology at the Queen's Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education in Birmingham, England.
