Kevin Carey is an American writer and policy analyst focused on higher education. He has directed New America's work on education policy, and has taught education policy at Johns Hopkins University. New America is a non-profit research organization based in Washington, D.C. His articles have appeared in The New York Times, The New Republic, Slate, The American Prospect and Wired. He has also testified before education committees of the US Senate and House of Representatives. Riverhead Books published his book The End of College in 2015. Before New America, he spent eight years as policy director at Education Sector and held analyst roles at several other organizations.
