About Marcus J. Carey
Marcus J. Carey created the Tribe of Hackers series of cybersecurity books. His career of more than 20 years covers penetration testing, incident response and digital forensics, and includes work for US federal bodies such as NSA, DC3, DIA and DARPA. He started out in cryptography in the U.S. Navy, and he earned a Master's degree in Network Security at Capitol College. Carey founded Threatcare, a cybersecurity and software services company in Austin, Texas. ReliaQuest later acquired the company. Carey speaks at security conferences and supports the community through mentorship and hackathons.
