About Mary Claire Haver
Haver is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN) from the Houston area, where she has delivered babies, taught residents and cared for patients. Her patients often raised weight gain during menopause. After going through menopause herself, she concluded that her old advice to eat less and exercise more did not work. That experience led her to develop The Galveston Diet, a nutrition program built around an anti-inflammatory approach. She became certified in Culinary Medicine in 2019 and founded a menopause clinic, Mary Claire Wellness, in 2021. Her book The New Menopause appeared on The New York Times Best Sellers list. She has also hosted the podcast UnPAUSED, which covers women's health and midlife wellbeing.
