About Neil Price
Neil Price is an English archaeologist, born in south-west London. He studied archaeology at the University of London, and his first book, The Vikings in Brittany, appeared in 1989. He did doctoral research at the University of York and later completed his PhD at Uppsala University in 2002. He edited the anthology The Archaeology of Shamanism in 2001, and his doctoral thesis was published as The Viking Way. Other archaeologists have regarded that study as an important work on the Viking Age and pre-Christian religion. Price has been a professor in the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History at Uppsala University since 2014. He was elected a Corresponding Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2017. His book Children of Ash and Elm is in the BookBits catalog.
