About Phil Gilbert
Phil Gilbert spent decades as a start-up entrepreneur before joining IBM. After IBM acquired his third startup in 2010, he was asked in 2012 to apply design thinking and agile methods to the way its teams worked. Harvard Business School wrote the effort up as a case study, and the documentary film The Loop also tells the story. In Irresistible Change, Gilbert writes about his experiences at IBM. The New York Foundation for the Arts named him to its Hall of Fame in 2018, and in 2019 his home state of Oklahoma made him a Creativity Ambassador. He remains active as an author, consultant, lecturer and board member, and lives in Austin, Texas.
