About Phil Stutz
Phil Stutz is an American psychiatrist. He graduated from City College in New York and earned his medical degree at New York University. His career began with work as a psychiatrist in the prison on Rikers Island, followed by a private practice in New York, and in 1982 he relocated that practice to Los Angeles. With his partner Barry Michels, Stutz wrote The Tools, a New York Times bestseller, and Coming Alive. Their books share practical techniques that the pair use with their clients, who include writers, actors, producers and business leaders. Stutz also appears in the Netflix documentary Stutz.
