About Scott Kupor
Scott Kupor has been a managing partner at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, and he was the first employee the firm's founders hired. Before that, he worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse and later joined the cloud computing company Loudcloud in 1999. He studied public policy at Stanford University and went on to earn his law degree there in 1996. He teaches venture capital courses at Stanford and co-founded its Venture Capital Director's College. Kupor served as chair of the National Venture Capital Association for a year, starting in May 2017. In 2025 he was confirmed by the US Senate as director of the Office of Personnel Management.
