About Sharon Salzberg
Sharon Salzberg was born in 1952 and teaches Buddhist meditation in the West. In 1974 she co-founded the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, together with Jack Kornfield and Joseph Goldstein. Her work rests on vipassana (insight) and metta (lovingkindness) practices, which come from the Theravada Buddhist tradition. She has led meditation retreats around the world for several decades. Her book Lovingkindness appeared in 1995, and Real Happiness was on a New York Times bestseller list in 2011. She also hosts a podcast called The Metta Hour.
