About Soren Kierkegaard
Søren Kierkegaard lived from 1813 to 1855 in Denmark. He worked as a philosopher, theologian, poet, social critic and religious author. He wrote about faith, ethics, psychology, love, and how an individual copes with personal choices. Much of his early work appeared under pseudonyms, each voicing a different viewpoint. He was sharply critical of the Church of Denmark. Either/Or, published in 1843, is one of his major works, alongside Fear and Trembling and Philosophical Fragments. He wrote in Danish, and his work was at first read mainly in Scandinavia. By around 1900 it had been translated into French, German and other major European languages.
