About Tara Brach

Tara Brach is an American clinical psychologist, author and teacher of Buddhist meditation. She founded the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, D.C., where she is a senior teacher. She has also taught across the US and Europe, at places such as Spirit Rock Meditation Center, the Kripalu Center and the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies. Her teaching combines Western psychology with Eastern spiritual practices, with a focus on emotional healing. Her meditation teaching spans more than four decades, with a particular focus on vipassana, also called insight meditation. She has also worked to bring meditation into schools, prisons and underserved communities, and she leads the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program together with Jack Kornfield. Her books include Radical Acceptance, Radical Compassion, True Refuge and Trusting the Gold.
