About Tony Hsieh

Tony Hsieh (1973 to 2020) was an American entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He co-founded the internet advertising network LinkExchange and sold it to Microsoft for $265 million. He later moved to Zappos, first as an adviser and investor, and eventually took over as its CEO. He retired from that role in August 2020, after 21 years with the company. He helped Zappos grow to more than $1 billion in yearly gross merchandise sales. Delivering Happiness, his first book, draws on lessons from a lemonade stand, a pizza business, LinkExchange and Zappos. It reached number one on the New York Times Best Seller list in 2010. Hsieh died on November 27, 2020.
