About Trevor Corson
Trevor Corson is a journalist, essayist, editor and teacher who has written for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Atlantic. His first book, The Secret Life of Lobsters, drew on time he spent fishing commercially off Maine. The Story of Sushi was first published in hardcover as The Zen of Fish. He researched it by spending months in sushi kitchens in Los Angeles and studying the cultural history and biology of sushi ingredients. It won the 2007 Gourmand World Cookbook Award for Best American Food Literature Book. Corson studied Taoist and Buddhist philosophy at Beijing Normal University, then graduated from Princeton University and did research on Japanese Buddhist practice in Japan. He has taught writing at several universities, and in 2020 he founded NeuWrite Nordic, a regional branch of a science-writing workshop.
