About Vasant Lad
Vasant Lad is an Ayurvedic physician born in India. He earned his degree in Ayurvedic medicine and surgery at the University of Pune, and his training also covered Western medicine and surgery. He spent three years leading the Ayurveda Hospital in Pune as its medical director, and he taught clinical medicine at the Pune University College of Ayurvedic Medicine. He began traveling across the United States in 1979 to share his knowledge of Ayurveda. In 1984 he founded the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and became its director. His books include Ayurveda, The Science of Self-Healing and The Complete Book of Ayurvedic Home Remedies, along with a series of textbooks. Editions of his books have appeared in over twenty languages.
