Eric Ries was born in 1978 and is an American entrepreneur, blogger and author. He co-founded IMVU, a social network built around 3D avatars. Besides The Lean Startup, he has written The Leader's Guide and The Startup Way, a book on modern entrepreneurial management. He has also been a founder of the Long-Term Stock Exchange, Answer.AI (an AI research and development lab) and Virgil (a legal services startup). He hosts The Eric Ries Show, where he talks with technologists, thought leaders and executives who are building for the long term. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
