Mary L. Trump was born on May 3, 1965, in New York City. She holds a PhD in clinical psychology from the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. Her first book, Too Much and Never Enough, appeared in 2020 and draws on her experience growing up in the Trump family. She is the niece of Donald Trump. The Reckoning followed in 2021, and the memoir Who Could Ever Love You came out in 2024. She also writes the newsletter The Good in Us and hosts The Mary Trump Show on YouTube.
