Rolf Dobelli was born in 1966 in Lucerne, Switzerland, and earned a PhD at the University of St. Gallen. He started out as a novelist, and his bestselling non-fiction book The Art of Thinking Clearly later brought him wide international recognition. Dobelli co-founded getAbstract in 1999, a publisher of book summaries and article abstracts.
