Sebastian Junger was born in 1962 in Boston, Massachusetts. He has written The Perfect Storm, War, Fire and A Death in Belmont, and he reported on the war in Afghanistan for over ten years. His field reporting for Vanity Fair became the basis of War, and the same work lay behind the documentary Restrepo, which he directed with Tim Hetherington. The film was nominated for an Academy Award and won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.
