Charles Thomas Munger was born in Omaha on January 1, 1924, and died on November 28, 2023. He was vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway from 1978 until his death, working with Warren Buffett, who called him his closest partner. Munger was also a founding partner of the California law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson. He chaired Wesco Financial Corporation from 1984 through 2011, chaired the Daily Journal Corporation, and served as a director of Costco Wholesale Corporation.
