About Karen Berman
Karen Berman was an expert in business and financial literacy and the founder of the Business Literacy Institute (BLI). She held a doctorate in organizational psychology, and her doctoral thesis found that a company performs better when its staff and managers grasp the financial figures behind it. Her work covered consulting, coaching, speaking and writing. She helped leadership teams build business literacy into their strategy, designed training programs, and created money maps, which are visuals used to teach employees about the business. Earlier in her career she was a senior consultant at two boutique consulting firms and held management roles in banking, investment, healthcare and graphic art. Berman studied managerial economics at the University of California at Davis and organizational psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology. She taught at the California School of Professional Psychology and at Claremont Graduate School. She co-wrote Financial Intelligence, and Financial Intelligence for Entrepreneurs is also in our catalog. She died in July 2013.
