About Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a Lebanese-American essayist and mathematical statistician. He spent more than two decades as a trader and risk taker before turning to research and writing about probability and chance. He has been Distinguished Professor of Risk Engineering at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering since September 2008. He is also an adviser at Universa Investments. His Incerto is a five-volume work on uncertainty, published between 2001 and 2018. It includes Fooled by Randomness, The Black Swan, Antifragile and Skin in the Game. The Sunday Times placed The Black Swan among the dozen most influential books published after the Second World War. Taleb argues for the idea of antifragility: systems that can gain from random events, errors and volatility instead of merely surviving them.
